FOURTH CENSUS OF MSME

The 4th All India Census of Micro Small and medium Industries is scheduled to begin from January 2008.  The field work is expected to be completed in 3 months. The census will cover all the registered Micro Small and Medium scale Enterprises registered up to March 2007. It is expected to cover a sample size of unregistered units as well, after the first phase of enumeration of Registered units. Along with the Census, an all India census of Pharmaceutical industries also is to be covered. Announcement in this regard is being arranged both by State and Central Governments shortly. The census is expected to give valuable information on growth of economy, sickness in industry and contribution to national economy. The data will be most useful for the future planning.
